Penn Go Society
The Penn Go Society both organizes and participates in events to attract new players and spread interest in go. For the convience of beginning players and teachers alike, we have compiled a printable 9x9 board with basic rules of play on reverse, available as a pdf file.

The Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia is an annual initiative to encourage a better understanding of the cultural, social, and educational customs of Japan and the United States. Japan has been celebrating the beauty of the elegant pink cherry blossom for hundreds of years with picnics under the trees accompanied by traditional music and dance. The Festival also seeks to beautify the Philadelphia landscape by annually planting and maintaining 100 cherry trees in Fairmount Park. In the spring of 2007, the Japan-America Society of Greater Philadelphia finished planting 1,000 cherry trees to supplement the 1,600 flowering trees donated by Japanese government as a gesture of friendship in 1926.
The Penn Go Society has been participating annually since 2006. Each year members play and teach go to both young and old at the festival.
